Week in Review: Week 13 - 15

I'm a few weeks behind on Week in Review so I'll just combine them. Our weeks haven't been all that busy. We started week 13 with the first batch of my milk going to it's new home. I love that I'm able to do this again! Later in the week, Emily turned 3 months and had her ENT appointment.

Green smoothies and glow sticks in the bathtub!

Week 14 started with Maddy's 3rd birthday. She's very excited to be "3 old"! We had a special breakfast and then that afternoon, an art party. They'll be a separate post on that later! Middle of that week, I got a much needed new phone. My blackberry had died just about a week and a half before I was eligible for an upgrade. I used an old phone that seemed to be a phone from the stone age until I got my new phone: a Motorola Photon. I love it!! Though, I'm now hooked in Angry Birds and Draw Something. Also that week, we lost our pet rat, Rizzo. Rizzo had started rooming with Sean a while back and Sean got very attached, more than I had realized. When we lost the other rat last year, Sean was completely fine. Not this time. He cried...a lot. Seeing him like that was really difficult. Especially when, after we buried Rizzo, Sean asks, "When he's done being dead, can we go get him?". The next morning he asked if Rizzo was in Heaven yet and seemed ok after I told him yes. We ended the week by picking up 5 baby chicks. Unfortunately, they are not ours to keep. Our city has something against chickens. What we're doing is participating in the Rent A Chick program at a local farm. We got 5 2 day old chicks and all the supplies to raise them for two weeks. Then we have to return them to the farm. I so wish we could keep them!! I'll have a separate post on that too. That afternoon we had an Easter egg hunt at hubby's parents' house and then had Easter dinner with them.

Chickies!

Easter Bunny came and silly kids after an Easter egg hunt

Last Sunday was Easter. The Easter Bunny came, we did an Easter egg hunt and had a family dinner with my family. We then started out the work week with adopting 2 baby rats. Sean insisted that Rizzo's cage needed more rats. Cookie and Crumbster (Sean picked the names) were 5 1/2 weeks when they came to live with us. They are adorable and oh so playful! I assumed the rest of the week would be a normal, non-eventful week. But then hubby hurt his arm at work and spent the rest of the week home with us. Since I still had daycare kids, I put him to work entertaining and feeding kids. ;) This weekend's plan is to work on the garden!

Week in Review: Week 12

Wow! I'm getting behind on these week in review posts. I should be working on this week's but have just finished up last weeks. Oops! We had another beautiful week last week. It was the first week of spring and we got to spend a lot of time outside.

Who knew! I have 2 airplanes!

And a thumb sucker!

We also started a project: worm composting.
Here's a handful of the pound of worms we adopted:

Week in Review: Week 11 (video bonus!)

What a beautiful week last week was! Good bye winter, make room for spring!! I finally decided to embrace the over supply I have this time around and donate my milk again. We also signed up for rent-a-chick at a local farm. What that means is we're going to the farm on the Saturday before Easter, pick up a few chicks and supplies, raise them for a couple weeks and return them to the farm. The kids and I can't wait! ..maybe me more than them..

This week it's just the girls in the pictures and video:

Week in Review: Week 10

Even though it seemed like we had a busy week this week, I really don't have much to report. It felt like a busy week mostly because it was a week of adjustments as one of my daycare kids went full time. To make up for the lack of updates, I have more pictures to share than normal.

Over supply/over active letdown = an occasional milk bath

Sean's solution to "boys can't nurse" is a sling and a bottle in the pocket

Smiles!!

Sibling love! They just had to join sissy.

Daddy time! ..melts my heart

Lincoln logs = a good time

Week in Review: Week 9

This week Emily recovered from her first ear infection and had her 2 month check up. She also laughed for the first time! What a wonderful sound!! Maddy's doing wonderfully with potty training. I don't hesitate to take her out in underwear. The only thing is she does not poop in the potty. ..and I don't know why. Sean, he's his normal crazy self but he's back to taking naps daily. It's wonderful and he's less moody. Just don't tell him he naps. He thinks he just lays in bed waiting for the music on the alarm clock to come on.

Walking to Grandma's after a lazy day at home.
They dressed themselves..

Week in Review: Week 7-8

I kept putting off last week's week in review until it was time to start on this week's. Oops! So I'm just combining them. Week 7 was a pretty normal week really nothing to report. This past week, on the other hand, was a rough one. All three kids came down with a cold...yes, Emily's first cold. They all had congestion, runny noses and coughs. Emily actually had a better time than Sean and Maddy; I credit mama's milk! That was until last night. Just as normal, she cluster nursed and was asleep for the night by 10:00. She normally sleeps till 4:00/5:00 but this time woke up at 3:30. She didn't just nurse and go back to sleep like normal. She latched, unlatched and screamed. She would not nurse. She also would not let me lay her down without her screaming. She'd go to sleep on my chest while I rocked her but wouldn't let me lay her down. Around 5:30 she finally let me lay with her in my arms (not completely laying flat). We slept half an hour and had a repeat from earlier. We spent the next couple hours with her sleeping on my chest. I suspected an ear infection so I called the pediatrician as soon as they opened. I love their weekend hours! They could get her in but it was a little wait. It gave us just enough time for Sean and I to make our chiro appointments where I found out that they were able to squeeze in Maddy and Emily. Chiro told me it was her left ear. After she was adjusted, Em nursed and didn't mind being laid down for a diaper change!! We went to the doctor and it was conformed, Em has a small ear infection in her left ear. Poor little thing is currently napping.

Week 7
Emily got her Baltic Amber teething necklace!
Not teething yet but it looks too cute to not have her wear it.

Sean wrote his name for the first time without having me spell it for him!

Emily got her new carseat! Plenty of room to grow!
Rear facing till 45lbs, in a harness till 65lbs

Week 8
As I was getting ready for the day, I watched Sean snuggled up with Emily.

She fussed a little and here's what he did in his sleep. *swoon*

Week in Review: Week 6

I was beginning to think I wouldn't have much to write about this week then Maddy decided she wanted to be a big girl. First, let me go off on a little side note. A few months ago hubby was working his first night at his second job. It meant I had to get both kids to bed by myself. At that point Sean was in his own room and Maddy was still in our room on the little bed. Both had to have hubby or I in the room while they fell asleep. I can't be in two rooms at the same time so I asked if they wanted to have a sleep over in Sean's room. They agreed and both went to bed very easily. That's been the sleeping arrangement since then. At the beginning of this week they started fighting each other in bed and Maddy said she wanted to sleep in her room like a big girl - her words. And with that, they are sleeping in separate rooms.

The idea of being a big girl must have got the ball rolling because Wednesday afternoon Maddy informed me that she was a big girl and she wanted princess underwear. I had been thinking of starting potty training but I didn't want to start too close to introducing Emily to the family. Maddy had other plans. After nap I gave her some underwear and told her that she needed to keep them dry and go potty in the potty. She had a few accidents that night but the next couple of days went great. She woke up in the mornings dry, woke up from nap dry and only had a few accidents each day...each day getting a little better.

This week's pictures:
