What's On My Hook: Blanket, Order Progress, & a New Finished Product

First things first, my temperature blanket is coming along. I'm behind a few days but here is the progress so far. The first square is my January square. I want to make an applique for it but not exactly sure what yet.

Lexi, I swear your owl will be done soon!! Here she is so far. The owl itself needs ears and feet. Then I have to make its tree.

And lastly....my latest finished product: this beautiful unicorn hooded scarf. I am absolutely loving this one!!! I have the pattern for toddler/child and teen/adult sizes. I can also adapt the pattern for different animals. This unicorn one was for an order. Em wants a fox one and Maddy wants a panda one. Toddler/child sizes will be $80 and Adult/teen sizes will be $100. The materials aren't cheap and they take a decent amount of time to make. They are extremely soft though!!

What's On My Hook Weds: Blanket Update

What's on my hook?

My temperature blanket is coming along really well. I have managed to keep on top of things and have all the squares made. I just need to sew together the last six. We've had some crazy weather lately! Look at all those colors!!

I'm also still working on Lexi's owl. I'm just in love with this color combo!! Oh and check out the scissors I got for Christmas. Aren't they cute!?

One more project to update yall on. I am going to try a pattern for an unicorn hooded scarf. A friend wants it for her daughter. Since yarn was on sale today, I stopped and picked out the yarn for this project. What do you think?

What's On My Hook Weds: Xmas gifts & New Year Project

With the recent holidays I have been busy with crafts. I made quite a few gifts this year. Just a reminder that if you see anything here that you would like feel free to message me about a custom order on my Etsy shop. First one up wasn't a gift but a custom order. Gus Gus from Cinderella. I'm so in love. I couldn't be happier with the way he turned out.

First gifts of the holiday season was for dance teachers. I made them mug/cup cozies and gave them a reusable travel cup and Wawa gift card.

The next couple gifts were a little different.

This is my mother-in-law's gift: Cape Hatteras lighthouse:

 

For my dad I made a storage container for his gazebo. He really likes flamingos.

Back to what was on my hook. Two more gifts. I made a baby Groot for my brother's girl friend. He even has posable arms!! Next is the poncho I made for my mom. I just love how the colors fell from the variegated yarn!

 

Now....What's currently on my hook!? First up is the project I started in the new year: a temperature blanket. I'm making a granny square each day. The middle round it the low temperature for the day, the next row is the high for the day, final round is grey for all of them. To even things out I'm making a special square for each month and then a special square for the end of the year.

What's On My Hook?

• I'm working on an order of 2 ballerina cats. The first one is white and the second will be gray. These are the cats who they will be based off of. 

•  I'm also making something for myself. I'm holding off on the vest because I decided I needed a slouch hat for this weekend's camping trip. Here's the pattern I'm using: Moogly Blog: Moroccan Midnight Slouch Hat. I love the colors in the variegated yarn. I think I will use the same colors in the vest.

Projects not started:

      this order just came in so I need to find a pattern.

Monday Musings {10.17.2016}

• Scouts: Watching Sean grow in scouts has been awesome. He has really come out of his shell. Maddy is in her second year of scouts and I'm seeing the same thing happen with her.

•  Yoga: I've skipped my daily yoga this past week...oops.... I can definitely feel a difference. I need to get back on track.

•  I've finished a crochet project for myself: this yoga mat bag. My next one will be this Dream Catcher vest: the question is do I use the same colors or change it up??

• Going low carb can suck but there are some really good recipes out there. Last week we had a Bacon Cheeseburger Casserole and this week we're going to have a Deconstructed Pizza Casserole.
