Check Ups: Emily's 12 Month and Sean's 5 year Endo

Sean and Emily both doctor appointments in the last 2 weeks. Sean was first. He had his yearly endo check up on the 11th. Endo conformed that even though Sean is way below the chart, he is still on his own curve. He wanted to do another bone age scan since it's easier to read the older Sean gets and he also wanted to look at the interval of change. I received the results on the 18th. Everything appears normal so he'll go back in a year.

On the 18th, Emily also had her belated 12 month check up. Not much to report as everything is looking good. Her stats are 17lbs 9oz, 28.5in. She's close to what Sean was at this age; just a pound heavier. The difference in the boy and girl charts is odd to me. At this size, Sean was well below the chart, Em is at the 5th percentile. Looks like we'll have 2 peanuts in the family. :)

Just for kicks I made charts to compare the kids' weights and lengths through out their first year (click to enlarge):

Egg Muffins

These aren't really muffins like you think of when you think muffins; there's no flour. What there is, is egg, sausage, cheese and spinach. These would make the perfect make-ahead breakfast when you need something on the go. Though I admit that I haven't tried to reheat them; they were such a huge hit with the kids (mine and daycare) that there were none left!

Here's the recipe for 12 muffins:
Ingredients:
  • 8 eggs
  • Fresh chopped spinach
  • Cooked sausage - crumbled (I bought the already cooked sausage crumbles)
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tbsp veg oil
  • Shredded cheese (I used cheddar)
  • salt & pepper to taste
Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F
  2. In a skillet cook the spinach
  3. Spray muffin tin and cover the bottom of each cup with sausage.
  4. Spoon in the cooked spinach on top of the sausage.
  5. In a bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, baking powder, oil and salt & pepper.
  6. Pour egg mixture into each cup.
  7. Sprinkle cheese on top.
  8. Bake for about 15 minutes.

Jan 1st - Jan 9th in Pictures

This year I'm taking another shot at 365 days of pictures. I, however, know I won't post daily so I won't promise that. I won't even promise that I'll post weekly. What I do promise is that I will post. Some days will just be the one picture while others will be a few.

Here are the pictures I chose for Jan 1st - Jan 9th

Jan 1st
This was before I committed to the challenge and this is the only picture I took that day.

Jan 2nd
One of my new year's resolutions is to take more pictures of myself, so here I am!

Jan 3rd
Em taking a rest:

Sean being goofy:

Jan 4th
Our baby chicks aren't so little anymore!

Em loves her "chicky chicks"

Jan 5th
Daddy and his girls:

Jan 6th
Church wears Em out!

Jan 7th
Toys all over the floor is much more fun then having them in the proper place ;)

Just a couple quick shots:

Jan 8th
Right before the kids went to bed I realized that I hadn't taken a picture. So, I thought I'd quickly get one of all 3 of them. Not so easy! Here's the best one:

Jan 9th
We had a beautiful day here yesterday so outside play became a priority.

I love his shirt...hubby doesn't so much. ;)
